  • In Guadeloupe, the Marsolle family has been running the Montebello distillery since 1966. Historically known as the “Carrère” distillery, it was in 1975 that they first marketed there rum as “Rum Montebello”.

    The distillery uses red canes, green canes and white canes which can be blended or pure in their finished products; which are always 100% pure cane juice. In addition, the canes are cut by hand with an ethical and qualitative concern.

    The Montebello distillery is also committed to the environment as it operates entirely on steam thanks to the reuse of its “bagasse” (residue obtained from the crushing of cane, not used for distillation).

    Old Montebello rums can be aged in American bourbon barrels, cognac barrels and wine barrels, depending on the desired finish.
